THE POOL
What the station looks at, in one paragraph.
drkpl is one collection of creatures on Robinhood Chain. Nobody sees into a dark pool; a night trawler stands over it with its lights off, and its echo sounder is the only window down. Every token is a contact the beam has resolved: a shrimp, a crab, a fish, a shark, a whale or a megalodon, with its weight in pounds written on its body. Shrimp are caught by work on any machine, crabs are bought. Big creatures eat small ones and pay the owner of everything they eat. Of every bought pound 70 % is shared by the holders of crabs and up, the heaviest creature takes a cut of every bite, and one ping in 256 rings gold. There is no owner, no pause and no opening time: the pool opens in the block it is deployed.
00.1FIVE RULES, FIVE LINES
This manual describes the rules of concept v4 exactly as the station’s mock chain implements them; every number on this page is read from that code when the page is built. The contract is not deployed yet. When it is, chapter 13 carries its address, and any difference between the contract and this page is a fault of this page.
THE CONTACTS
Six tiers on one scale of weight. The tier is read from the weight; the number stays for life.
Every token is one creature with a weight in whole pounds. The weight decides the tier and the picture: the renderer draws the creature from the weight and from a seed fixed at its birth, so the seabed it was found over, the band of the sounder and its heading stay with it through every tier. A token keeps its number when it grows; a shrimp pinged today can be a crab tomorrow and a shark next week. Eating and striking burn the prey, and the eater keeps its number.
This creature can be eaten by any creature 4x heavier; you get 0.00075 ETH per lb.
PING
A shrimp is caught by work. Your machine pings the pool until an echo comes back.
cast(day, nonces)
To ping is to hash. The station’s miner hashes, again and again, until a hash comes back with enough leading zero bits. That hash is an echo, and every echo is a shrimp of 1 lb.
- YOURS ALONE
- Your address is inside the hash. An echo found by your machine is valid only for your address; the same nonce sent from another wallet catches nothing.
- LAND
- One transaction carries 1..200 nonces. Every valid nonce lands a shrimp. Each shrimp raises the count before the next nonce is checked, so the threshold can rise inside one batch. Used and invalid nonces are skipped; a batch with no valid nonce reverts and costs only its gas.
- FOR ONE DAY
- The day seed changes with every TIDE. Echoes cannot be stockpiled across days: a store of solutions burns with the tide.
- THE MINER
- The station pings on your processor, in web workers, and shows the hash rate, the threshold now and the average time this machine needs at that threshold. It does not use the graphics card.
- AVERAGE WORK
- An echo of b bits takes 2b hashes on average: 20 bits about 1.0 M hashes, 24 bits about 16.8 M, 28 bits about 268 M, 32 bits about 4.3 G. Every extra bit doubles the work.
- NEXT BLOCK
- A landed shrimp spends two blocks, about 0.2 s, under the sweep while the next block decides its skin. See chapter 10.
Graphics card farms ping thousands of times faster than a laptop and will be in the pool from its first block. In the busy hours the free path belongs to them, and the threshold climbs with every shrimp they land. A phone catches when the nets are low, which mostly means after a tide. Mine it or buy it; the station promises a phone nothing.
TIDE
The tide resets the nets every 24 hours, counted from the moment of deploy.
tide()
Day N begins N × 24 h after the deploy. Deploy is the opening: the seed of day 0 is made from the hash of the deploy block, which nobody knows before that block is closed, the author included. So nothing can be mined before the pool exists. Pinging works from the next block; buying works at once.
- THE TIDE BLOCK
- The first transaction to the contract in a new day anchors the tide in its block.
Any transaction does it: a ping, a buy, a bite, a sale on THE AUCTION, or a bare
tide()from anyone. - THE DAY SEED
keccak256(abi.encode(hash of the tide block, contract, day)). It exists only once the tide block is closed, so nobody can open a day with an echo of their own.- AT THE TURN
- Echoes of the old day still land up to and including the tide block; echoes of the new day land from the block after it. No transaction breaks at the turn of the day.
- THE NETS
- At the tide every uneaten shrimp of the day that ended becomes an older shrimp. Older shrimp stay in the pool and in the shoal; they weigh a quarter in the threshold. Chapter 04.
THRESHOLD
How many leading zero bits the pool asks for now, and why it remembers.
The threshold starts at 20 bits and rises one bit for every 64 uneaten shrimp of today. Uneaten shrimp of earlier days count a quarter. That quarter is the memory of the tide.
- WHAT COUNTS
- A shrimp counts the moment it lands. An eaten shrimp leaves the count. A gold echo leaves it when its skin is written: it cannot be eaten, so it does not hold the nets.
- WHY THE MEMORY
- If the tide forgot everything, farms could start again at 20 bits every day and the pool would grow without end. With a quarter remembered, the pool stops growing by itself, unless shrimp are eaten. Bites open the nets for everyone.
BUY A CRAB · GAIN
Weight is bought at one price: 0.0005 ETH a pound, up to 16 lb.
mint(qty) · mint(qty, ref) · grow(id, lbs, ref) · feed(shrimpId, ref)
- BUY A CRAB
- At THE POT:
mint(qty)buys 1..20 crabs of 2 lb, 0.001 ETH each, with exact payment; anything sent above the price comes back as change.mint(qty, ref)is the same buy with a RELAY. - GAIN
grow(id, lbs, ref)adds pounds to your creature at 0.0005 ETH a pound, up to 16 lb of weight in all. A fish of 4 lb costs 0.002 from nothing, a shark of 16 lb 0.008.- A SHRIMP PLUS 1 LB
feed(shrimpId, ref)turns your shrimp into a crab for 0.0005 ETH. So a free shrimp is worth at most 0.0005 to anyone who wants a crab, and every new buyer can be a buyer of the floor.- BEYOND 16 LB
- Nothing is for sale. Whales, megalodons and the APEX LOCK are eaten into being.
- RELAY
- A link that ends in
?ref=and an address. 5 % of every buy it brings is credited to that address in the same transaction; without a relay those 5 % go to the author. - NOT YET
- A shrimp still under the sweep (NEXT BLOCK, two blocks) cannot gain. A gold shrimp that gains is a gold crab: the skin grows with the token.
05.1WHERE A BOUGHT POUND GOES
| A BOUGHT POUND | AUTHOR | RELAY | THE BANK |
|---|---|---|---|
| 0.0005 ETH | 0.00012525 % | 0.0000255 %TO THE AUTHOR WITHOUT ONE | 0.0003570 % |
The bank’s share of a purchase is split over the bank before the buyer’s new pounds are added, so a buyer never collects a share of his own money. Chapter 08.
BITE · BITE OWN
Fish and everything heavier eat shrimp, and pay the miners for it.
eat(id, n) · eatOwn(id, ids)
A creature of 4 lb or more can eat shrimp. Every shrimp eaten burns and adds one pound to the eater. The shrimp come from THE SHOAL: all uneaten shrimp in the order they were pinged, its head the oldest.
- BITE
eat(id, n)takes up to n shrimp from the head of the shoal, 1..1 000 in one call, at 0.0005 ETH a shrimp. 0.0003 of every shrimp is credited to its owner: its miner, or whoever holds it now. It is the station’s default key, because it pays the miners.- WHAT IT SKIPS
- A gold echo cannot be eaten and is skipped. The walk stops at shrimp still under the sweep, because everything behind them is newer. A bite pays only for what it ate and reverts if nothing was edible.
- BITE OWN
eatOwn(id, ids)eats your own shrimp that are older than 24 hours for a fee of 0.0002 ETH each, paid to nobody but the fee’s three parts. Younger shrimp, gold echoes and other people’s shrimp in the list are skipped. You cannot mine a shrimp and eat it at once: in the first 24 hours a hungry creature pays the miners.
| ONE SHRIMP | ITS OWNER | AUTHOR | THE BANK | APEX LOCK |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| BITE0.0005 ETH · FROM THE SHOAL | 0.0003 | 0.00015 | 0.00004 | 0.00001 |
| BITE OWN0.0002 ETH · OLDER THAN 24 H | NOTHING | 0.00015 | 0.00004 | 0.00001 |
STRIKE
A creature can eat a creature 4 times lighter. The owner of the prey is paid at a formula; nobody asks him.
hunt(id, preyIds)
- THE PREY
- A crab or anything heavier that weighs at most a quarter of the hunter. Several prey can be taken in one call, 1..100; each is checked against the hunter’s weight as it grows. A whale of 64 lb reaches anything up to 16 lb.
- THE OWNER GETS
- 0.00075 ETH per pound of the prey, which is 150 % of the bought price of a pound, and whatever the bank owed him on that creature is settled to him first.
- THE HUNTER PAYS
- The same 0.00075 per pound, plus a fee of 0.0002 per pound: 0.00095 ETH a pound in all. The hunter takes the prey’s pounds; the prey burns. A gold skin passes to the hunter.
- GONE BEFORE
- Prey that vanished or grew out of reach before the strike landed is skipped, not reverted.
- FOR EXAMPLE
- A fish of 8 lb strikes a crab of 2 lb. It pays 0.0019 ETH; the crab’s owner is credited 0.0015; the fish weighs 10 lb.
This creature can be eaten by any creature 4x heavier; you get 0.00075 ETH per lb.
A strike is a forced buyout at a formula. Any creature of crab weight or more can be taken at any moment by anything 4 times heavier. 0.00075 ETH per pound is then both its floor and, while hunters live, its ceiling.
THE BANK · HAUL
The seabed bank where crabs live, and a bank: 70 % of every bought pound is shared there.
collect()
- WHO SHARES
- Every creature of crab weight and up, counted up to 16 lb each: a megalodon of a thousand pounds counts as 16. Shrimp hold no share.
- WHAT FLOWS IN
- 0.00035 of every bought pound (70 %), 0.00004 of every bite, own bite and struck pound, and half of the 5 % royalty on sales at THE AUCTION.
- WHEN
- A purchase is shared over the bank as it stands, before the buyer’s new pounds are added.
- ON A SALE
- A creature’s share follows the creature. When it is sold or moved, what it earned so far is settled to the old owner first.
- HAUL
collect()takes everything credited to you in one transaction: the bank, the payments for your bitten shrimp, the payments for your struck creatures, your relay. Nothing is pushed to anyone; every payment to a holder waits as credit.
The bank is rent from later buyers to earlier ones, and it pays only while people buy. The station shows only the amount the bank has actually credited you and you have not hauled yet. It shows no rates and promises nothing.
APEX LOCK
The instrument holds a lock on the heaviest contact in the pool.
- WHO HOLDS IT
- The heaviest living creature of crab weight and up. A tie keeps the holder: to take the lock you must be strictly heavier.
- ITS CUT
- 0.00001 ETH of every bite and own bite and of every struck pound: 1/5 of the part of each fee that does not go to the author (0.00001 of 0.00005).
- UNTOUCHABLE
- It cannot be bought, because purchases stop at 16 lb. It cannot be struck, because nothing is 4 times heavier than the heaviest.
- ON A SALE
- The lock belongs to the creature. Sell the creature and the lock goes with it.
GOLD ECHO
1 of 256 pings rings gold. The next block decides, not the miner.
isGolden(id) · seal(ids)
A shrimp lands in block N. Its skin is decided by the hash of block N + 1:
it rings gold when the lowest byte of keccak256(abi.encode(hash N+1, id)) is zero, which is 1 in
256. When you send the ping that hash does not exist yet, so nobody can choose, discard or roll back the
outcome: not the miner, not a contract wrapped around the call.
- NEXT BLOCK
- For two blocks, about 0.2 s, the sweep is still passing over the fresh echo. From block N + 2 the token reads the hash of N + 1 from the block history (EIP-2935) and shows its skin on the auction and on the station. You send nothing a second time.
- WRITTEN BY ANYONE
- Any later transaction to the contract, from anyone (a ping, a buy, a bite, a strike, a tide, a sale), writes the outcomes of up to 16 pending blocks before it does its own work.
- MARK
- The history keeps a block hash for 393 168 blocks, about 11 hours.
If nobody touches the contract for that long, the last unwritten echoes stay natural. Before the trace fades the
owner can MARK a gold echo:
seal(ids)writes 1..256 of them at once. Anyone may send it; the station shows the key to the owner of an unwritten gold echo, with the time left. - WHAT GOLD DOES
- A gold echo is not in the shoal: it cannot be bitten, it does not hold the nets, and it leaves the count when it is written. It can gain, and a gold shrimp becomes a gold crab. It can be struck, and then the skin passes to the hunter.
- LUCK, NOT RARITY
- Gold is the luck of the ping, shown at once with a live counter on the station: 1 of 256 pings rings gold. Because plain shrimp get eaten and gold ones cannot, the share of gold among living tokens grows over time; the manual promises nothing about its price.
THE MONEY
Who pays whom, for every pound that moves.

Without a relay its 5 % go to the author. When no creature holds the lock its cut goes to the bank. Royalties are set by the collection under ERC721-C. Every payment to a holder is a credit to HAUL; the contract pushes nothing.
WHAT IT IS NOT
Things the contract does not have, on purpose.
- NO OWNER
- There is no owner, no admin key and no pause. Nobody can stop the pool, change a price or take the bank.
- NO PREMINE
- Before the deploy block is closed no seed exists, so nothing can be mined in advance. The author pings at the same threshold as everyone.
- NO OPENING TIME
- Deploy is the opening. There is no start transaction and no countdown.
- NO ALLOWLIST
- No limit per wallet and no guard on minting. Work does not care how many wallets it comes from.
- NO SERVER
- The rules live on chain. The tide, the gold writes, the bank and the lock are kept by ordinary transactions from anyone. The station is a static page.
- ONLY ETH
- No token of its own, no other currency.

RISKS
An honest note. No forecasts.
- THE CROWD DECIDES
- The mechanics create no buyers. Bites, the bank and the lock pay only when people buy and eat; in a quiet pool they pay close to nothing.
- FARMS
- Graphics card farms own the free path in the busy hours. The threshold rises with what they land.
- THE BANK IS RENT
- It moves money from later buyers to earlier ones, and stops when buying stops.
- THE STRIKE
- A forced buyout at a formula. A creature of crab weight or more can be taken at any time for 0.00075 ETH per pound.
- THE FLOOR
- The cheapest token is a shrimp, and in a quiet pool shrimp are dust.
- GOLD
- Gold may be worth something or nothing. Its price decides whether farms keep pinging after the tide, and so how open the nets are. An unwritten gold echo fades if nobody touches the contract for about 11 hours; MARK it.
- THE AUCTION
- A collection of mostly free tokens can be hidden by a marketplace’s filters.
- THE MACHINE
- The accounting is not simple: the shoal, the threshold with memory, the bank with its cap, the lock, credits, strikes and gold writes. Contracts can have faults. The contract is not deployed yet and has not been audited as of this edition.
CONTROLS AND CALLS
Every key of the station and the call it sends.
| KEY | CALL | LIMITS |
|---|---|---|
| PING · LAND | cast(day, nonces) | 1..200 nonces; reverts when none is valid |
| BUY A CRAB | mint(qty) mint(qty, ref) | 1..20 crabs at exactly 0.001 ETH each, change returned |
| GAIN | grow(id, lbs, ref) | 0.0005 ETH a pound, up to 16 lb of weight |
| GAIN A SHRIMP | feed(shrimpId, ref) | a shrimp plus 1 lb is a crab, 0.0005 ETH |
| BITE | eat(id, n) | 4 lb and up; 1..1 000 shrimp from the head of the shoal |
| BITE OWN | eatOwn(id, ids) | own shrimp older than 24 h; 1..1 000 |

| HAUL | collect() | every credit at once |
| MARK | seal(ids) | 1..256 ids whose skin is readable |
| TIDE | tide() | anyone; anchors a tide that is due |
Every call first anchors a due tide and writes up to 16 pending gold outcomes, then does its own work. A call that reverts leaves no trace.
